Cambridge Police Make Arrest on Four Individuals Involved in High-Scale Shoplifting Case

Four men – two from New Jersey and two from New York – were arrested by the Cambridge Police Department late yesterday afternoon at the Cambridgeside Galleria for larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250.

At approximately 4:12 p.m. on April 10, a Cambridge police officer, assigned to working a detail at the Cambridgeside Galleria, was notified by mall security that a retail clothing store was shoplifted and suspects were viewed entering a vehicle outside of the mall. Additional officers of the Cambridge Police responded to search for the vehicle, which they quickly located and conducted a motor vehicle stop on McGrath O’Brien Highway. One passenger exited the vehicle, fled on foot, and was ultimately captured and taken into custody. The other three suspects remained in the vehicle and were taken into custody. Four bags of clothing – valued at approximately $12,400 -- from six different stores were secured as evidence. Earlier in the day, one of the six stores targeted was also victimized at another shopping mall in Massachusetts. 

Joslin Ramirez, 34, Union City, New Jersey; Harry Negron-Rosario, 28, Union City, New Jersey; Edwin Guzman, 29, New York, New York; and Carlos Medina, 34, New York, New York were arrested and charged with Larceny over $250 and Receiving Stolen Property over $250. Medina was also charged with Possession of Chemical Mace without an FID Card.
