To increase the safety of the general public, the Cambridge Police Department will be holding a series of self-defense classes in May and early June.
Beginning on Thursday, May 15, 2014, self-defense classes will be held on four consecutive weeks (the other dates are Thursday, May 22, Thursday, May 29 and Thursday, June 5) and are offered FREE to any female Cambridge residents or women that work in the City of Cambridge. The classes will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m. at the Baldwin School Gymnasium located at 28 Sacramento Street in Cambridge.
Space is limited, and anyone interested in the course (registration is for all four classes) should contact the Cambridge Police Department’s Community Relations Unit at 617-349-3236 for more information and to reserve their spot.
The Cambridge Police Department’s Self-Defense Program is a comprehensive course for women, which begins with information about awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, before progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training.
