UPLAND RD
Cambridge Police were dispatched to the intersection of Upland Road and Washington Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle disabled in the roadway. Upon speaking with the operator of the disabled motor vehicle, later identified as Sarah Kline, 57, 32 Blakeslee Street, Cambridge, MA, officers noticed glassy eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol emanating from her. Kline had called the police for assistance after she struck a parked car and her motor vehicle was no longer operable. The opinion was formed that Kline was under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle on a public way. Kline was placed under arrest and charged with c. 90 s. 24J - Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol and c. 90 s. 24E - Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Cambridge Police officers spoke with a victim of domestic incident who stated that she had been punched in the face by her  boyfriend Joseph Etienne, 60, 100 Soldiers Field Road, Brighton, MA, in a fit of jealous rage.  Etienne had left prior to the police arriving on scene. Later that night and shortly after midnight, Etienne  was taken into custody and transported to the Cambridge Police station where he was processed in the usual manner.

MOTOR VEH, MALICIOUS DAMAGE TO c266 S28

BROADWAY
Anthony Medeiros, 29, 298 Brookline Street, Cambridge, was placed under arrest when he was observed by a witness attempting to break into a motor vehicle. Upon an officer's final observations, he was seen by the passenger side door closer to the street and when officers approached him he was by the rear of the trunk, with the trunk open. When officers approached Medeiros, he took off in a sprint in an attempt to evade officers. Medeiros was subsequently placed in custody approximately three blocks from where he was initially observed. A search incident to arrest Medeiros resulted in two knives and a leather man tool being discovered, a credit card that was not in his name (later discovered reported lost/stolen on 6/25/2014) along with numerous capped needles. Upon closer examination of the vehicle that Medeiros fled from, officers observed the bottom portion of the steering column exposed, and the bottom portion of the ignition exposed. Medeiros was transported to the Cambridge Police station via the wagon, where he was booked and processed in the usual manner.

Waqas Ali, 24, 7 Newtowne Court, Cambridge, was arrested after investigation revealed that he had struck his wife several times while she was holding their one month old child. Ali was charged with Domestic A&B and Reckless Endangerment of a Child.
