The Cambridge Police arrested a 17-year-old Cambridge resident last night after a 30-year-old Boston resident was stabbed.

At approximately 9:29 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, Cambridge Police responded to a stabbing on Cambridge Street. The victim stated he was waiting at a bus stop when an unknown suspect walked up behind him, stabbed him and ran away in the direction of the Lechmere T Station. The victim sustained two stab wounds to his lower back and buttocks area. He was later transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

While the victim was being treated, Cambridge Police searched the area for the suspect. Minutes after the stabbing was reported and a few blocks from the location of the incident, officers identified the described suspect standing at a doorway of an unoccupied Thorndike Street building with blood on his hands. The suspect was placed under arrest.

While an arrest has been made, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.
