EARHART ST
Korey Whitehurst, 30, 10 Heritage Drive in Salem, was arrested by the Cambridge Police for Larceny of Motor Vehicle, Operating to Endanger, Operation After Suspension of License, Leaving a Scene After Property Damage and Resisting Arrest. Whitehurst was also charged with warrants out of Salem District Court. Whitehurst was observed operating the motor vehicle on Cambridge Street in a reckless operation by driving in excess of an estimated 75 miles per hour in a 30 MPH zone, marked lane violation crossing over the yellow line dividing the street and driving on the left side of the street the wrong way and driving onto the sidewalk near the corner of Cambridge and Willow Streets. It was confirmed that the state license issued to Whitehurst had a status of suspended/non-renewable. Whitehurst crashed and knowingly caused damage to four vehicles and attempted to leave the scene. Whitehurst was instructed to place his hands on the rear of the vehicle. Whitehurst knowingly attempted to flee on two occasions to avoid arrest and was guided to the ground to prevent escape. It was later learned that the motor vehicle driven by Whitehurst was stolen from Earhart Street.

Daniel Lyons, 65, 101 Highland Avenue from Somerville, was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol. Lyons was involved in a single car accident when his motor vehicle struck a light pole.

A Connecticut man reports that his half-brother, who is homeless, was stopped by a Cambridge Police Officer on 9/01/2015 and issued a traffic ticket. However, he gave the police officer his half-brother’s information.

The Operations Manager of a Cambridge business reports that their bank alerted him they had a counterfeit $20 bill in their deposit. The bill was passed on 9/13/15 by an unknown suspect at an unknown time.

A resident of Memorial Drive alleges that a maintenance worker from housing came to her apartment to fix several items in the apartment. She was gone from 09:30 until 13:00. When she returned, there was $40 missing from her bedroom.

A Cambridge resident was stopped for an expired inspection sticker at the intersection of Broadway and Moore Street. During the stop, it was discovered that the registration of the motor vehicle was revoked for a bad check. The motor vehicle was parked on private property and the driver will be summonsed for the above offenses.

Elias Higgins, 37, from 73 Krainwood Drive in Moultonborough, was arrested at Brattle Street and Palmer Street on a warrant out of Boston District Court for drug offenses. Higgins was in possession of two different types of prescription pills, which he didn't have a prescription for and was subsequently charged with one count of Possession Class B Drug and one count of Possession Class C Drug.
