Incident at Pearl Street

Cambridge Police responded to the area of 139 Pearl Street today at approximately 8:12 a.m. for an initial report of a hit-and-run incident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon further investigation, it was learned that the victim was dragged by a dark Nissan following an altercation in Central Square. The two parties – driver and victim -- are believed to be known to each other. A third party was pistol whipped and located along with the victim who was dragged by the suspect’s motor vehicle.  A firearm was discarded out of a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses and has been located by officers in the area of Allston and Pleasant Streets.  

The victims were transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. One suspect has been taken into custody.   

The investigation is ongoing.
