A business owner reported that unknown person(s) damaged the flowers within a planter out front of the building.

SMITH PL

A Smith Place business owner reports on 7/4/16 between 6:19 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., a terminated employee contacted the owner of the company threatening by phone and text to “end her business.” At 4:30 p.m., he stole a backhoe, returning it after taking it to move around a dumpster. The subject damaged the engine after parking it in the same spot. He also kept the keys. At 11:30 p.m., the Cambridge Fire Department responded to the parking lot on the Mooney Street side of the company for a truck on fire. An attempt was made to set fire to the cab of another truck. Four mirrors were shattered on four other trucks. The incident remains under investigation.

A resident of Albany Street came to the police station to report that on 6/24/16 some of his "friends" from the shelter stole his debit card and took close to $600. The victim states that he is legally blind and they told him they gave the debit card back to him but it was a "Charlie Card" that they returned. The suspects are known to him.

A Wayland resident walked into the police station to report that someone stole all of the furniture and the furnishings from her rental unit on Bristol Street. The tenant moved out on July 1 and she went there on July 2 and everything was taken.

A resident of Huron Avenue reported that her vehicle was struck and damaged, sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on 7/1/16, while it was parked in a Mt Auburn Street parking lot. Damage was caused to the front bumper and radiator of the victim’s vehicle. No suspects were identified at the time of report.

A Cambridge resident walked into the police station to report a breaking and entering and a larceny. The woman stated that she left her apartment to bring some trash down. She was only out of the apartment for approximately 20 minutes. Once she returned to her apartment, her handbag containing her driver's license and checkbook was missing. She left to notify the bank to cancel her checks that were stolen.
