THIRD ST
Cambridge Police responded to Third Street for an unattended backpack on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, officers were informed there were no threats made or any other suspicious behavior involving the backpack. After the K-9 showed no change of behavior, officers opened the backpack and it was empty with no identification inside. It appears the backpack was disregarded trash and was disposed of in an improper manner.

Ariana Acevedo, 24, 47 Clifton Street in Cambridge, was arrested and charged with a marked lanes violation and operating a motor vehicle without a license, when she was seen driving over the double yellow lines at Cambridge Street and Fayette Street and a check of her license revealed that she did not have one.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Pearl Street when a blue van was observed obstructing the crosswalk in the intersection. An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for the violation and further observed an expired inspection sticker and an operator with no license in possession. The operator was eventually identified as a resident of North Attleboro. The driver was summoned for the violations of operating unlicensed, expired inspection sticker and blocking a crosswalk.

A resident of Broadway reports that sometime between 7/29 at 6 p.m. and 8/3 at 7:50 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole the rear tire, seat, handlebars and rear rack from her bicycle, which was parked and locked in the bike storage area. The bicycle was valued at $350.

ALBANY ST
Evans Mahon, 65, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest after Detectives assigned to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) observed Mahon smoking "crack cocaine" in a rear parking lot on Albany Street. Mahon was found in possession of additional suspected "crack cocaine" and taken into custody without incident. Mahon was transported to Cambridge Police headquarters and charged with possession of a class B substance (crack cocaine).

The driver was summonsed for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
