11/17/2016 06:29 TRAFFIC 16008387 TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS | PROSPECT ST Cambridge Police responded to a single car motor vehicle crash on Prospect Street. |
11/17/2016 07:18 INCIDENT 16008398 TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS | CAMBRIDGE ST Cambridge Police units responded to the intersection of Hampshire Street and Cambridge Street for a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual who was riding a bicycle on Hampshire Street towards Inman Street was struck by an oncoming motor vehicle in the opposite direction in the lane of traffic. This motor vehicle in question attempted to make a left hand turn from Hampshire Street onto Cambridge Street when he struck the bicyclist in the lane of traffic. The bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries where she was transported by Professional Ambulance to a local hospital. The driver in question involved in the accident was properly cited for the motor vehicle infraction that led up to the accident. |

11/17/2016 11:17 INCIDENT 16008392 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30 | CAMBRIDGESIDE PL Travis Artist, 36, Somerville, was arrested for larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property under $250. Mr. Artist was captured on video surveillance camera concealing items into his coat pockets and ran out of the door without making an attempt to pay for the items. Further investigation revealed that he had additional stolen items from another store. |

11/17/2016 11:48 INCIDENT 16008393 B&E MV IN DAYTIME FOR FELONY C266 S18 | SECOND ST A construction worker from Lynn, MA reports that sometime on 11/8/16 or 11/9/16, an unknown person broke into his motor vehicle while it was parked on Bent Street and stole his wallet from a door compartment after he inadvertently left the vehicle's doors unlocked. The wallet contained the victim's bank cards and checking account number. The victim reports that soon after the theft, several fraudulent transactions were done on his checking account by unknown means. Accounts have since been cancelled. |

11/17/2016 18:16 INCIDENT 16008404 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30 | CAMBRIDGESIDE PL Cambridge Police responded to an electronics retail store for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers were directed to the loss prevention office where the offender Jian Chen, 32, 10 Bowdoin Street in Boston, was being detained. Loss prevention retrieved all of their property from Mr. Chen totaling $424.99. Loss prevention observed Mr. Chen through security cameras opening merchandise and stuffing it into his jacket. Mr. Chen then tried to exit the store but he activated the alarm. Mr. Chen was placed under arrest for the above offense. |
