12/30/2016 02:00 ARREST 16009394 A&B c265 S13A | WESTERN AVE Cambridge Police were dispatched to Western Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police witnessed Xi Zhao, 27, 61 Beachview Road in Boston, punching another male and placed him under arrest for assault and battery. The victim received a small laceration to his forehead because of the attack. The victim had to be transported to the hospital for his wounds. |
12/30/2016 08:10 INCIDENT 16009397 THREAT TO COMMIT CRIME c275 S2 | JFK ST A resident of Winthrop Street stated that she was threatened by another woman at a JFK Street garage. She believed that this woman was homeless and possibly mentally ill. A search of the garage yielded negative results. |
12/30/2016 08:17 INCIDENT 16009398 MOTOR VEH, MALICIOUS DAMAGE TO c266 S28 | BOW ST Michael Gaskill, 46, homeless, was placed under arrest for Malicious Destruction to a Motor Vehicle and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person Over 60 to wit a spring-loaded baton. Gaskill attempted to get money back from the victim that he had given to them and when the victim refused, Gaskill made threats to harm them. Gaskill followed the victim to their vehicle and while the victim was inside the vehicle, Gaskill stated "This is what I am going to do to you!" and struck the victim’s vehicle three times with a spring-loaded baton causing damage to the vehicle. |
12/30/2016 09:12 INCIDENT 16009399 SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE / EOD INVESTIGATION | CAMBRIDGEPARK DR Cambridge Police responded to Cambridge Park Drive for a suspicious package left at a front door. Upon arrival, a staff member pointed out a brown shopping bag that she said had some items inside what she believed to be suspicious. The bag was a shopping bag and was open. An officer could clearly see into it and it appeared to be lab equipment. The officer took possession of the property and was bringing into to the station to log it in the Property room. While en route to the station, the owner of the equipment called and the officer returned to Cambridge Park Drive. The owner of the equipment stated he left the bag behind when he was dropping off his child. He stated he was a scientist and this was his research equipment. |

12/30/2016 09:49 INCIDENT 16009400 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30 | TUFTS ST A Cambridge resident arrived at the police station to report that an unknown person made fraudulent withdrawals and a retail purchase with her checking account. The fraudulent activity reportedly occurred between 12/26/16-12/27/16. |
12/30/2016 10:34 INCIDENT 16009402 MISC. REPORT TYPE | HAWTHORN ST CPD, CFD and Pro EMS responded to the intersection of Hawthorn Street and Mt. Auburn Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The operator of the vehicle stated that she did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk due to the glare of the sun. The pedestrian sustained injuries to her chin and right leg. The pedestrian refused to go to the hospital. |
