01/13/2017 05:55 INCIDENT 17000264 UNLICENSED OPERATION OF MV c90 S10 | MT AUBURN ST Cambridge Police responded to in front of a local hospital for a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. Both vehicles sustained damage. After further investigation, it was discovered that one of the operators had never been issued a valid Massachusetts License despite being a resident of Massachusetts. This individual was operating a vehicle registered to a family member. The operator of the vehicle will be summonsed for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle will be summonsed for Permitting an Unlicensed Operator to Operate a Motor Vehicle. |
01/13/2017 07:17 INCIDENT 17000265 CREDIT CARD FRAUD OVER $250 c266 S37C | BENNETT ST The concierge at a local hotel reports an ongoing credit card fraud scheme. iPhones were purchased with stolen credit cards and shipped to the hotel under the name of the victim of the credit card fraud. A suspect calls and said their friend is coming to pick up the fraudulently purchased iPhone. They have been experiencing these incidents since August 2015. |

He states that an unknown person(s) stole all of his medication from him the day before. He doesn't know what types of medication they were nor how many bottles he had. |

He reports that on 12/23/16 to 12/29/16, an unknown person(s) used his credit card information to make purchases over $250. All the transactions were done in NJ and NY. |

01/13/2017 14:09 INCIDENT 17000274 LARCENY OVER $250 BY FALSE PRETENSE c266 S34 | SHERMAN ST A school administrator from a Cambridge school came to the police station to report a past theft, which occurred on 12/05/2016 at her school. On 12/05/2016, an email appeared on one of the computers at school, which appeared to authorize a transfer of funds. The email was in the reporting party’s name, but did not originate from her email account. The two bank transfers were completed on 12/05/2016, but they did not learn of any wrongdoing until contacted by the bank on 1/10/2017. Both transfers were for more than $250. |

01/13/2017 20:41 LOST PROPERTY 17000281 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30 | MASSACHUSETTS AVE A Cambridge resident states that he got picked up by a ride sharing service in Harvard Square and was dropped off in Kendall Square. About 30 minutes later, he realized right after exiting the motor vehicle that he no longer had his cell phone. By the time he was able to contact the driver, the driver told him that he could not locate the phone in the car. |
