A Newton resident had just left the Star Market on Mt Auburn St and was walking toward his parked car in the parking lot when he saw a man and a child exit the vehicle parked adjacent to his. The rear door struck his motor vehicle knocking out a triangular piece of plastic from the right rear tail light. The man then left with the child without exchanging information.

Manuel Cordero – 20, of 820 Massachusetts Avenue was placed under arrest after he was observed operating his motor scooter, while laying with his stomach on the seat and his feet extended straight behind him. Cordero refused to stop when he saw my activated cruiser strobe lights. Cordero fled through a red light, crossed over the double yellow line toward incoming traffic, before riding on and off sidewalks, causing pedestrians on the sidewalk to jump out of the way. After Cordero's apprehension, it was discovered that the motor scooter that he was operating, was reported stolen out of Boston in October of 2013.

Cambridge Police responded to a local book store in Harvard Square, in regards to a past shoplifting. Upon further investigation, the suspect stole approximately $125 worth of books this evening. Store employees state the suspect is a frequent shoplifter and has stolen several thousand dollars’ worth of books over the past couple years.

Cambridge Police responded to a business at the Galleria Mall for the report of a shoplifter being detained. Loss Prevention staff observed SUSANA HEATON, 30 of 68 Trenton Street, East Boston, MA, take merchandise into a fitting room and then exit the room a short time later with the merchandise in her bag. Heaton removed the tags from the merchandise and exited the store. Heaton was stopped outside the store and detained. The merchandise was recovered. The determination was made that Heaton had taken and concealed the merchandise with the intent to permanently deprive the store of the merchandise and she was subsequently placed under arrest for Larceny Over $250 (266/30/A).

Cambridge Police responded to Alewife Brook Parkway for an assault in progress. Gregory Lehmann, 36, of 17 Pelham road, Waltham was placed under arrest for assault and battery, after striking the owner of a store in the face with a fist, wanton destruction of property under $250, after breaking three bottles of wine, two counts of assault and battery on police officers, after striking one in the chin with a fist and grabbing another around the neck area, and one count of resisting arrest.

On Saturday, February 18, 2017, Cambridge Police placed Dimitri DEHORATIUS, 46, of 97 Thorndike Street, MA, under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Officers responded to a disturbance call after a car accident and observed DEHORATIUS inside his vehicle with the motor running. DEHORATIUS had glassy eyes, slurred speech, and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. DEHORATIUS preformed a series of field sobriety tests poorly.

Shannon FOGG, 39, of Lynn, MA was observed by Loss Prevention personnel at Sears opening a box of perfume and placing it in her backpack. FOGG then was observed grabbing several jackets and pants from a shelf and entering a fitting room. FOGG was observed leaving the fitting room without the aforementioned clothing. Loss Prevention personnel inspected the fitting room and found that it was empty. FOGG was stopped by Loss Prevention personnel on the second level of the Galleria Mall, after having passed all points of purchase. The value of the merchandise FOGG took was $304. FOGG was subsequently found to have four active warrants. She was placed under arrest for the above offenses.
