A resident of Cambridge reports an unknown vehicle struck his motor vehicle causing damage and then left without making themselves known between 3/15/2017 at 7 p.m. and 3/16/2017 at 10 a.m.

Cambridge Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Putnam Avenue. A truck was rear-ended by a Nissan Altima. The operator of the Nissan Altima (later identified as Jonathan Harlan, 46, Woonsocket, Rhode Island) had glassy eyes, slurred speech, he kept losing his balance, and there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Harlan's performance on the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests indicated that he was impaired. Harlan was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

CAMBRIDGESIDE PL

Rumana Sultana, 33, 302 Columbia Street in Cambridge, was arrested for larceny over $250 after she was caught on security cameras stealing assorted items from a Cambridgeside Place store. She put the stolen items into her bag and walked out of the store. She was apprehended by Loss Prevention Officers outside the store.

BROAD CANAL ST

Cambridge Police responded to a restaurant on Broad Canal Way in regards to two customers who did not pay their tab on March 3rd. One of the customers left their driver's license behind and promised to pay the bill in the future. The customers still have not paid for their bill.

A Cambridge resident was issued a Citation/Summons for leaving the scene of a crash. An officer with CPD observed a green pickup truck striking an MBTA bus at Broadway, which then fled the scene. The vehicle was later stopped at the intersection of Broadway and Quincy where the operator was identified and cited.

Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Massachusetts Avenue and Arrow Street. As a result of the stop, a Waltham resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for operating a motor vehicle while unlicensed.
