A motor vehicle crash was reported at Mass Ave. The crash involved a car hitting several cars on the Harvard Bridge and coming to rest at 77 Mass Ave. after hitting a bus and a taxi. The operator attempted to flee but was stopped by MIT Police.

Cambridge Police Special Investigation Unit arrested Cassandra Mullen, 27, 97 Pine Street in Cambridge, for a warrant out of Waltham District Court for Shoplifting $100+ by Concealing Merchandise and Kenneth Ortiz, 35, 97 Pine Street in Cambridge, for a warrant out of Waltham District for Shoplifting $100+ by Concealing Merchandise and Possession of a Class B Substance (Suboxone). Detectives responded to a report of a female and male consuming illegal drugs inside Pine Street Park. After a warrant check of both parties came back positive for active warrants, both parties were placed under arrest. A search of Ortiz’s backpack revealed a black container and inside the container were several pills with no prescription bottles or labels. Ortiz was additionally charged with Possession of a Class B substance.

Cambridge Police responded to the Cambridgeside Place in regards to a shoplifting. Upon further investigation, it was determined that two females worked together to steal $1,699.73 worth of merchandise from six stores. Surveillance video captured one suspect concealing numerous items of clothing in bags. The other suspect took clothing off the shelves and handed it to her friend, who then concealed it in a bag. Alexandra Ruiz, 39, 149 Intervale Street in Dorchester, and Keyetta Cook, 27, 16 Rosetter Street in Dorchester, were both placed under arrest and each of them were charged with one count of Larceny Over $250 and Larceny Over $250 By Single Scheme. Cook also had two warrants out of Roxbury District Court.
