MASSACHUSETTS AVE
The shift supervisor at a store in Central Square called the Cambridge Police after she observed a male suspect concealing various skin care products in a red backpack. When the employee approached the suspect, he ran out the store with all of the merchandise, and was seen taking a right onto Pearl Street. Police units searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to locate him.

A resident of Cambridge reports that on 8/16/17 at 1:30 p.m., an unknown person attempted to swindle him out of $300 after contacting the resident via Facebook Messenger and stating they were going to use his pictures on various websites if he did not give them the money.

An employee of a grocery store called to report that an unknown male shoplifted $25 worth of food. The suspect ran down Pleasant Street to evade loss prevention. A search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful.

MAGAZINE ST
A Cambridge resident was observed sitting in a staircase of Magazine Street. He appeared to be engaged in suspicious activity. Further investigation revealed the suspect to be counting a prescription drug (9 pills) that did not belong to him. The prescription pills were confiscated and the suspect was advised that a complaint for possession of a class C drug will be sought against him in Cambridge District Court.

A resident of New Orleans reports her mother's vehicle, which she had been operating, had been struck while it was a parked, by an unknown operator. The victim attempted to speak to the driver, who fled the scene, however she was able to photograph his license plate.

Cambridge Police responded to an address of White Street for a hit and run report. An Arlington resident was observed by a witness striking another motor vehicle with hers. The driver left a note on the damaged vehicle with false contact information. A criminal complaint has been filed against her and she has been charged with Leaving the Scene of Property Damage.
