Alemsged Berhe, 23, 8 Marcella Street of Cambridge, was placed under arrest for OUI and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. Berhe stated to officers that he was operator of the motor vehicle after being found blocks away. Berhe also stated he was the one who was in the crash. Berhe showed indicators that he was under the influence of alcohol during the field sobriety test and that was why he was placed under arrest.

A woman called CPD to report that she had witnessed a hit and run crash with property damage and that the driver got out, inspected the damage to the parked vehicle and left scene without making himself known. Cambridge Police responded, collected witness information and left a note on the owner’s window. Several hours later, the owner called CPD when he returned to the truck and discovered the damage to his vehicle.

Jason Finkelstein, 27, 149 Meadown Neck Road in Falmouth, was arrested for Operating with a Suspended Driver's License upon being stopped for a red light violation at Garden Street and Mass Ave. Finkelstein also had a warrant out of Westborough District Court for an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Class E Drug.

CARDINAL MEDEIROS AVE
Members of the Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Landers Ivey, 58, 28 York Street in Dorchester, on charges of Distribution of a Class B Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance, Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act, School Zone Violation and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License. Detectives conducting surveillance observed what they believed to be a street level drug transaction between Ivey and two other individuals. One of those individuals, upon being stopped, was found to be in possession of a crack pipe containing crack cocaine residue. Ivey was stopped as he left the area operating a motor vehicle and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana packaged for street level distribution and $649.00 cash. Ivey has an expired driver's license. The incident occurred within 300 feet of Sennott Park.

While conducting routine patrol, Cambridge Police observed a red motor vehicle traveling north on Cambridge Street, when it crossed the double yellow lines and made a u-turn going in the opposite direction. After observing the violation, the motor vehicle registration was entered into the CJIS system and it was discovered that the vehicle’s registration was revoked for insurance. The motor vehicle was stopped and the operator/owner was issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation and summonsed into court for Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Marked Lanes Violation.
