A Somerville resident was struck by a Mazda sedan on Columbia Street at Washington Street while riding her bicycle. The bicyclist sustained not life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

RIVER ST

Cambridge Police Units were dispatched to the area of River Street at Auburn Street for shots fired. Upon arrival police units located one victim with a gunshot injury to the hand and subsequently located a second victim with a gunshot wound to the knee. Suspect(s) fled the area previous to the police response. Investigation is on-going.

A Gray Street resident reported being swindled out of $4,200. He had paid that amount as a deposit for an apartment that was not actually for rent. The arrangements had been made through fraudulent contacts on Craig's List.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE

Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Day Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers located two individuals actively fighting. The parties were separated and after an investigation, John Sullivan, 2399 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery after striking the victim in the chest and legs. While awaiting transportation to the station Sullivan struck an officer, resulting in an additional charge of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
