A Natick resident reported that while stopped at a traffic light at the
intersection of Galileo Way and Broadway, there was a large trash truck
stopped next to them. When the light turned green the trash truck struck and
damaged the driver’s side mirror of their car. The operator of this truck
fled the area without stopping to identify themselves.

The manager of a Cambridge restaurant reported that one of her employees has
been engaging in fraudulent use of a credit card by adding money to the
service charge/tip once the customer signs their check. This began 06/1/17.
The total amount stolen is over $250. The same employee was also using
prepaid credit cards to run fraudulent orders for hundreds of dollars and
then pocketing the money.

Cambridge Police responded to a Cambridge Street address to document a past
scam by telephone report. The resident stated they received a telephone call
from someone claiming to be from a known company demanding that she pay an
overdue electric bill. The caller ordered the victim to visit a local
convenience store before 2 p.m. and pay their electric bill via money card or
they were going to shut off their electricity. The victim complied with the caller’s
demands and paid the total amount of $750 via money card.
