Cambridge Police responded to a check building call at a residence in Putnam Gardens. The reporting person believed that someone was in the basement of her apartment building. Officers checked the building and located a homeless male camping in the basement area. The male claimed that he had gained access through an unlocked basement door. He was subsequently summonsed to court for Breaking and Entering for a Misdemeanor.

Cambridge Police officers observed a white female pushing a shopping cart across Mass Ave, then stop and lay out a blue tarp on the sidewalk and start placing laundry detergent bottles, and then several candy bags, on the tarp. When questioned, she stated that she found these items while dumpster diving in Watertown and intended to sell them or give them away.

Cambridge Police responded along with Pro Ambulance to Mass Ave for a crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle. On arrival, both parties involved were on scene and identified. The operator of the motor vehicle opened the driver’s door into the bike lane and the bicyclist struck the door. The bicyclist, after striking the door, fell from the bike onto the street. The bicyclist sustained numerous scrapes and cuts to the legs and arms. The bicyclist was treated at the scene by Pro Ambulance but refused to be transported.
