At approximately 7:31 a.m., officers responded for a report of a hit and run. An individual’s car had been damaged while parked on Hurley Street between 8:00 p.m. July 18 and 7:24 a.m. July 24.

PROSPECT STREET

Joseph Fahey, 30, 121 Park Avenue, Arlington, was placed under arrest after being found operating a motor vehicle stolen from a car rental service. Narcotics were also discovered in the vehicle. Mr. Fahey was charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Class B Drug, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to a Central Square business for a past shoplifting report. Further investigation revealed that a known suspect had, on at least three occasions in the past ten days, stolen numerous cosmetic items from the establishment. On one occasion, the suspect assaulted a store employee as he left the establishment with items that he did not pay for. The estimated value of stolen merchandise is approximately $4,000.

Officers responded to Broadway for a report of malicious destruction. The meters on the side of an apartment building were vandalized with graffiti between the night of July 21 and July 24.

A past shoplifting was reported at a Cambridgeside Place business. A known suspect stole merchandise valued at $1,350 on July 17.

MEMORIAL DRIVE

Daquan Sparks, 24, 19 McDonough Way 713, South Boston, was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop, and Marked Lanes Violation. The vehicle Mr. Sparks was driving was seen making an unsafe lane change and failing to stop for a red light and officers observed smoke exiting from the open windows, along with a strong odor of burnt marijuana. During a traffic stop, multiple indicators of impairment were found and Mr. Sparks was placed under arrest.

Nequie Moore, 21, 21 Market Street 3, Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer. Mr. Moore became combative after a motor vehicle stop and struck an officer in the head with his hand.

Officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue business for a report of an armed robbery. Two unknown suspects stole approximately $2,000 in cash a few minutes before 10:00 p.m.
