At approximately 8:33 a.m., a Cambridge Street business reported a breaking and entering that occurred between approximately 2:40 a.m. and 6:48 a.m. $14,000 in cash was stolen, as well as $23,000 worth of cigarettes.

A resident of Somerville reported the theft of a check that occurred around mid-June. The victim had torn up and thrown away a blank check and an unknown suspect retrieved the pieces, taped it back together, and had it cashed for $100.

CAMBRIDGESIDE PLACE

Shea Lynn Morton, 33, 240 Albany Street, was placed under arrest for shoplifting at a local department store. Ms. Morton was observed cutting the security tags of two purses valued at $246 and attempting to leave the store without paying for them. Ms. Morton was also in possession of stolen personal documents and a check that it is believed she forged and intended to use. Ms. Morton also has a warrant out of Boston Municipal Court.
