A resident of Belmont reported that, after they unintentionally left a window in their vehicle down, an unknown suspect had stolen electronic items and a black bag with “Wentworth” printed on it from the vehicle. The theft occurred while the vehicle was parked on Appian Way between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. on July 29.

Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a stolen bicycle. The bicycle was stolen while locked to a bicycle rack in front of City Hall. It is described as a black Cannondale with white lettering and a rack on the back.

A visitor from Germany reported a hit and run that occurred at approximately 12:54 p.m. on Alewife Brook Parkway. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly became confrontational after striking the victim’s vehicle and left the scene in a red pickup truck.

A resident of Sidney Street reported that their bicycle, which was locked to a wooden fence, was stolen between approximately 11:00 p.m. July 25 and 9:00 a.m. July 26. An unknown suspect broke the fence and took the bicycle. The bicycle is described as a blue hybrid Trek FX. A neighbor reportedly heard noises outside on the night of the theft around 2:00 a.m.

Officers responded to Decatur Street for a report of an attempted breaking and entering that occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. July 28. The screen in a front window of the residence had been cut, but it does not appear that the screen was pulled aside, and the window was not damaged.

At approximately 7:41 p.m., a larceny was reported at a Cambridgeside Place business. An unknown suspect was seen on security cameras concealing an entire display of shirts in a suitcase and fleeing the store.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue business for a report of larceny. An unknown male party entered through a basement door and stole an employee’s possessions out of the locker room.

Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a hit and run involving property damage. A driver attempting to parallel park ran over a bicycle and narrowly missed striking the bicyclist. The driver fled the scene. The bicycle was severely damaged, but the bicyclist did not require medical attention.
