Officers assigned to the Area Four Gun Violence Task Force conducted a motor
vehicle stop of a vehicle with excessively dark window tint in Central
Square. The operator of the vehicle, Kiara Gomes, 25, 110 Harvard Street 7,
was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Somerville District Court for Permitting
Unlicensed/Suspended Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor
Vehicle with Registration Suspended.

John Madden, 36, 27 Gorham Street 2, Waltham, was placed under arrest for
Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. Madden was stopped
after a witness reported that Madden was traveling the wrong way down Brattle
Street and almost hit their motor vehicle.

A worker at a construction site on Binney Street reported that an unknown
individual had stolen $4000 worth of materials from the site. The site was
entered between 3:30 p.m. August 10 and 6:30 a.m. August 11. A similar incident
was reported August 10.

A Cambridge resident reported being the victim of identity theft. They
received a credit warning from one of their credit cards that someone had
used their information to open several accounts. Because this has previously
happened to the victim, they have been “flagged” by credit services.

A Belmont resident reported being slapped on the arm by an unknown male while
walking around Fresh Pond. The suspect was a slightly heavyset white male,
approximately 60 years old, blonde thinning hair, wearing dark or black

their company’s vehicles were broken into between approximately 5:00 and 9:30
a.m. The vehicles were parked on Fifth Street and access was gained by
smashing side windows. Power tools worth $600 were stolen.

approximately 10:15 a.m. A Hispanic male in a maroon hat with a white “H” on
the hat was observed on surveillance video removing an electronic device from

prevention officers could detain him.

A resident of Cambridge was walking their dog on a leash in Harvard Square
when a large dog belonging to a homeless individual began to chase the victim’s
dog. The victim’s dog ran from the other dog and pulled them down, causing
them to bump their head and scrape their hand. The victim did not require
medical attention but was concerned about the large dog’s behavior.
