An individual reported being assaulted by a known suspect on Willow Street at approximately 12:21 a.m.

MAIN STREET

Jean Almodovar, 23, 23 Graves Road, Revere, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Firearm without a License, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug, and Resisting Arrest. Officers, including members of the Port Gun Violence Task Force, responded at approximately 2:10 a.m. for multiple reports of gunshots in the area of Clement Morgan Park. Responding officers had observed Almodovar carrying a backpack in close proximity to two separate calls for gunshots. When he was apprehended nearby, he was no longer in possession of the backpack; it was recovered from a yard in the vicinity and found to contain a firearm, which Almodovar was not licensed to carry. Officers located a large quantity of marijuana in Almodovar’s backpack, as well as a digital scale and small baggies of the type commonly used to package marijuana for street-level distribution. Two cell phones and $526 in cash were found on Almodovar’s person. An officer sustained a non-life-threatening injury when Almodovar pushed him to the ground during the arrest and was transported to a Boston hospital via ambulance.

Officers responded to an Appleton Street residence for an overnight breaking and entering through an unlocked door. Two Apple laptops, an iPhone, two iPads, multiple identification and credit cards, and a Nikon camera and lens were stolen.

Officers responded to a Canal Park business for a report of a breaking and entering. A suspect entered the business overnight and stole approximately $1500 from the safe.

LINCOLN WAY

A resident of Lincoln Way reported their bicycle stolen from a bike rack near their home between 8:00 p.m. August 15 and 12:30 p.m. August 16. The bicycle is described as a neon green Overkill Genesis model with a left side mirror and a white light on the right side of the handlebar. It was locked to the bike rack, but the combination lock was smashed into pieces and left behind with the chain when the bicycle was stolen.

A Somerville resident reported being the victim of a check fraud scam. The victim was approached by a white male with facial hair in his late twenties or early thirties who asked them to cash two checks for him. After doing so, the victim was notified by their bank that the checks had been forged.

A resident of Fayerweather Street reported a breaking and entering to their apartment building. An Asian male in a white t-shirt and black pants entered the building and attempted to gain access to a tenant’s apartment, but he was scared away when the resident opened the door and observed him. The resident initially thought the suspect was a serviceman of some sort until the landlord informed them there was no scheduled maintenance.

A resident of Brighton reported a pickpocketing. Their wallet containing a debit card, university ID cards, and a dollar in cash was stolen from their rear pocket while they waited at a bus stop.

BRATTLE STREET

An employee of a Brattle Street business reported a shoplifting that occurred at about 7:00 p.m. A suspect fled the store with about seven white V-neck shirts in his bag. The reporting party believes the suspect was identified in the fall for a disturbance and was escorted out of the store, and also recognizes him from the Boston location of the business as a person who has stolen from them in the past.

A resident of Portsmouth Street reported a breaking and entering to their motor vehicle while it was parked in front of their home between 12:00 p.m. August 11 and 12:00 p.m. August 16. Upon returning from their vacation, the owner found that an unknown suspect had entered the vehicle and rummaged through the center console and glove compartment. The only thing missing was a 25 cent piece from Barbados and no damage was done to the vehicle.

Officers responded for a report of a package theft. The package had been accidentally sent to Western Avenue in Boston instead of Cambridge, and the reporting party stated that they had gone to this location and been told it was not received despite having a delivery confirmation.

A resident of Cambridge reported their Huffy Norwood 700 bicycle stolen on the night of July 29. The reporting party had locked the bicycle to a pole outside their residence and found it missing when they returned.

JFK STREET

Officers responded to JFK Street for a report of larceny. A resident of Somerville had locked their bicycle to a bike rack at approximately 10:00 a.m. When they left work at approximately 11:45 p.m., they noticed that the wheels on their bicycle had been stolen and another bicycle’s wheels had been placed by the frame. The brakes were also cut off.
