Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Waterhouse Street for a report of an unattended bag on a MBTA subway grate. Upon arrival, the bag was cleared by an Officer and K9. The bag contained clothing and uncapped needles. The needles were disposed of in a sharps container and the bag at the DPW yard.

Karahn Horton, 41, 169 Columbia Road in Dorchester, was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Threat to Commit a Crime, after he was observed conducting suspicious activity at the intersection of Brookline Street and Franklin Street. An investigative stop was made after Officers identified themselves as Cambridge Police Officers to a group Horton was with. Horton immediately became belligerent and then aggressively reached into his right pocket to retrieve an unknown object. Officers immediately attempted to restrain Horton's movements so that a pat/frisk could be performed and he became resistive and combative. Horton was cuffed and continued to flail his legs, while yelling and rolling on the ground while heavy footed and vehicle traffic moved through the area. A spring loaded knife was retrieved from Horton’s possession.
