WARRANT ARREST REPORT

MAGEE STREET

Dante Starks, 36, 49 Magee Street in Cambridge, was arrested on a federal warrant issued out of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Starks was transported to the Cambridge Police station, booked in the usual manner without incident, and transferred to federal custody.

A resident of Medford reported his cell phone stolen from a Cambridgeside Place business. The victim placed his cell phone on a display case while looking at merchandise and an unknown suspect removed it while his attention was distracted.

Officers responded for a report of a suspicious person who was seen tampering with a bicycle and who then stole credit and debit cards out of a truck. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a maroon shirt and sandals with socks.

A resident of Arlington reported a suspicious male trespassing at his workplace on Broadway at approximately 5:45 a.m. The reporting party stated that the suspect jumped a fence, entered the property via the loading dock, and fled in the direction of Broadway when confronted. The suspect is described as a white male in his late twenties wearing a white shirt, beige shorts, and socks without shoes.

A resident of Cambridge reported his bicycle stolen between 11:30 p.m. on August 22 and 10:30 a.m. on August 23. The silver bicycle was secured to a street post on Western Avenue.

A resident of Roslindale reported that a bicycle he purchased from a man in Porter Square on July 15 is falling apart. The internet advertisement for the bicycle stated it was in mint condition, and although it appeared to be in good shape at the time of purchase, it was soon found to have numerous defects.

A resident of Spring Street reported an attempted breaking and entering to her home that occurred around 11:30 p.m. on August 22. The victim stated that she and a companion heard someone attempting to break in and began to yell, which they believe scared off the suspect(s). The rear porch window screen was found to have been pushed up and damaged.

A resident of Cambridge received a summons for Shoplifting by Asportation after being observed leaving an Alewife Brook Parkway store with a pair of headphones he had not paid for.

Officers responded for a report of a suspicious person who had been observed hopping fences and running through backyards earlier in the day. The individual, who was located hiding in a portable restroom, was identified as Christopher Range, 31, 155 Union Street, Rockland. Range was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Quincy District Court for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Failure to Stop for Police, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Range was additionally charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest for his conduct during the arrest.

An employee of a Cambridgeside Place business reported an incident of shoplifting. Officers located the suspect and discovered stolen items from several nearby stores in her bags. Kenya Boyce, 28, 19 Sawyer Road, Weymouth, was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Asportation, as well as for warrants out of Quincy District Court for charges including Possession of a Class B Drug, Possession of a Class E Drug, Distribution of a Class B Drug, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug, Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law, and Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise.

A resident of Malden reported his yellow Honda motorcycle stolen from the parking lot at his workplace. The victim’s coworker observed two unknown male suspects enter the parking lot on a motorcycle, break the steering lock on the victim’s motorcycle, and push the victim’s motorcycle out of the parking lot. The coworker could not describe the operator of the suspect motorcycle, but the passenger is described as a black male wearing a gray hoodie.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Church Street for a report of an unattended bag. Upon arrival, the bag was cleared with the help of a K9. The bag, which contained damp and soiled clothing and uncapped needles, was disposed of.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Somerville Avenue for a report of an assault in progress. An unknown male was observed stealing snack items from a Porter Square business. When two employees of the store attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise, the suspect hit one employee in the face with his hand and bag, then pushed her with both hands. The victim was able to recover the stolen items as the suspect fled down to the Porter Square train station. The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall, approximately thirty years old, carrying two white and gold bags, and wearing dark sunglasses, a navy blue shirt with lettering, and jeans. The victim did not require medical attention.

LIVERMORE PLACE

Officers responded to a Livermore Place residence for a report of a breaking and entering, as well as a larceny, that occurred between the evening of August 22 and the morning of August 23. While the residents were on vacation, neighbors noticed that their motor vehicle had been moved to a different parking spot. The key to the vehicle and a PlayStation Pro were removed from the residence by a suspect who accessed the building via the rear basement window.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Thomas McSorley, 32, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, was placed under arrest for Threat to Commit a Crime and Disorderly Conduct after creating a disturbance in the area of the Central Square bus stop. After being asked to leave the area for loitering, McSorley began to shout profanity and threats at an officer while pacing between the sidewalk and the middle of the road.
