A resident of Cambridge Street reported that his children’s two scooters were stolen from the front courtyard of their home. The scooters, which were unsecured and leaning against a wall, were taken between 10:30 p.m. on August 24 and 7:00 a.m. on August 25.

A customer of a coffee shop in Cambridge reported a person caused damage to his motor vehicle in the parking lot and left without leaving their information. Witnesses described the suspect as a white female, light hair in a bun with shaved sides, about 5’3” and 150 lbs., and wearing big earrings.

B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue address for a breaking and entering that occurred between 7:30 p.m. on August 26 and 11:15 a.m. on August 27. An unknown suspect or suspects gained entry and physically broke into an office inside the building. Nothing was missing with the exception of a few dollars in change, but the damage to the office door and door frame were significant. An employee, who was alone in her office at the time, heard unusual noises at approximately 10:00 p.m., left the building in fear for her safety, and observed a white male between 50-60 years old exiting the building and leaving in a large white vehicle that was parked outside.

Cambridge Police and Fire units responded to Cambridge Street at Quincy Street for a report of a suspicious unattended bag. Explosive Ordnance Unit cleared the bag with the help of a K9. It was found to contain dirty cloth dinner napkins and was removed from the area.

WINDSOR STREET

A resident of Windsor Street reported that his window was smashed between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on August 24. The reporting party does not believe that anyone gained access to the residence and stated that no items were missing. He indicated that people have been moving in and out of the area recently and it was possible that the window was accidentally broken.

A Cambridge resident reported the theft of a bicycle that was secured to a pole on Centre Street. The gray road bicycle was removed between 8:00 p.m. on August 26 and 8:00 a.m. on August 27.

Domingo Peters, 54, 362 Rindge Avenue in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Trespassing after being found in an Alewife Brook Parkway store where he had previously been trespassed.

RECKLESS OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE c90 S24

HANCOCK STREET

Officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a motorcycle on Massachusetts Avenue for several motor vehicle infractions. The operator of the motorcycle failed to stop for police and struck a vehicle before fleeing on Harvard Street. The operator of the motorcycle is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male with a buzz cut, approximately 18-30. The motorcycle was white or gray and possibly had blue accents.

GILMORE STREET

A criminal citation was issued to a resident of Cambridge for Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Attaching Number Plates. The vehicle was found to be unregistered and uninsured, and the MA registration plate that was attached did not belong to that vehicle.
