MEMORIAL DRIVE

After a motor vehicle stop, officers placed Craig Robertson, 33, 812 Memorial Drive in Cambridge, under arrest on warrants out of Hingham District Court for Breaking and Entering into a Building Nighttime for Felony, Breaking into a Depository, and Larceny Over $1200. Robertson was additionally charged with Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Possession With Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug after marijuana and items consistent with distribution were discovered in his vehicle.

Officers responded to a construction site on Binney Street for a report of larceny. A foreman of the site had discovered that numerous light fixtures had been stolen from an equipment staging area inside the building.

GREEN STREET

Detectives observed a street-level drug transaction in the Central Square area and subsequently arrested Fernandito Vazquez, 47, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, and Miriam De-Almedia, 32, 22 Calhoun Avenue in Everett. Vazquez was charged with Distribution of a Class A Drug. De-Almedia was charged with Possession of a Class A Drug and was additionally found to have a warrant out of Middlesex Superior Court for Armed Robbery.

MEMORIAL DRIVE

A resident of Memorial Drive reported a stolen bicycle. The bicycle was locked to a rack near the victim’s home at approximately 6:00 p.m. on August 27 and was found to be missing at 9:30 a.m. on August 28. The bicycle is white with brown handlebars, a brown seat, and white reflective tape woven through the rear spokes.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue bank for a report of an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. The suspect is described as a short black male wearing a red plaid shirt, black hat, sunglasses with a mirrored finish, and carrying a silver handgun. After the bank teller complied with the suspect’s request for cash, the suspect fled from the bank towards Prospect Street.

A manager of a Kendall Square business reported that a male suspect attempted to shoplift several wireless headphones. The suspect dropped the merchandise and fled the store when approached by the manager.

The Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to West Place for a report of an unattended bag. The bag was cleared by a K9 and found to contain two bicycle helmets, several cell phones, and miscellaneous clothing and personal items. It did not contain any owner information and was turned in to the property room.

A resident of Roxbury reported his bicycle stolen from outside a Massachusetts Avenue restaurant. The bicycle, a red Fiji Sport model, was taken while locked up between approximately 6:00 and 7:15 p.m. on August 27.

A Cambridge resident reported that his vehicle was broken into while locked and parked on Whittier Street between 9:00 p.m. on August 27 and 8:00 p.m. on August 28. An unknown suspect damaged the driver’s side door panel and stole approximately $30-40.
