Shawn Marcinowski, 45, 8 Faulkner Street in Malden, was placed under arrest in Central Square after being involved in a violent physical confrontation with a man who was over 60 years of age. Marcinowski allegedly struck the victim multiple times in the face and then kicked him in the face after he fell to the ground. The victim was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

The identification belonged to an unwanted person who had been observed sleeping in a nearby backyard about two hours earlier and had been transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
