Officers responded to a Hayes Street residence for a report of a motor vehicle break-in. The vehicle was accessed between 6:30 p.m. on August 27 and 6:00 p.m. on September 4. $50 in cash, a green multi-tool knife, and nail clippers were missing. Ashes and a pack of cigarettes were discovered in the car and the driver’s side seat had been adjusted. Because the owner of the car does not smoke, she believes the intruder smoked a cigarette while sitting in the vehicle.
