Employees for a roofing company working on Third Street reported that sometime over the weekend an unknown suspect(s) broke into their work site and stole numerous power tools and copper hangers worth several thousands of dollars.

Paul Moniz, 61, of 240 Albany Street Cambridge MA, was arrested at Mass Ave and Pleasant Street for one warrant issued out of Cambridge District Court for larceny from a building and one warrant issued out of Quincy District Court for possession of a class E drug. Mr. Moniz was observed by an officer who was aware of the warrants issued against Mr. Moniz. The warrants were confirmed with dispatch and Mr..Moniz was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the station for processing.

MEMORIAL DR
Stanley Suojanen, 39, of 9541 North Canyon Road, Cedar Hills, UT, was arrested for Possession of a Class D substance after he attempted retrieve three packages containing approximately 45 pounds of suspected Marijuana. Suojanen attempted to flee from officers and was eventually found hiding and transported to Cambridge Police headquarters for booking. Several items including four cell phones and over $3,900 in US currency were seized at the time of his arrest.

A Virginia resident reported being defrauded in an on-line rental scam on 03/11/2019 at approximately 4:30 PM. He had arranged to rent an apartment in Cambridge that was not actually for rent. He transferred $700.00 to the suspect as a deposit on 03/05/2019.

An unidentified white male stole a $40 hardcover textbook from a bookstore. The witness said the suspect appeared intoxicated and unsteady on his feet and he smelled strongly of alcohol.

Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square. As a result of the stop, Monica Lewis, 48, of 225 Dudley Street, Roxbury, was placed under arrest for an active warrant.

Cambridge Police responded to a pharmacy in Porter Square for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, officers were told that both suspects had fled the store. One suspect had fled the store without paying for items. The other suspect threatened the reporting party and scattered various items throughout the aisles of the store.
