Beginning tonight, the Cambridge Police Department and Department of Human Service Programs will participate in a series of door-to-door outreach and information sharing nights.

Over the course of five Tuesday nights between tonight and the first Tuesday of June, members of the Cambridge Police Family and Social Justice Section will join personnel from the Department of Human Service Programs and visit residents at Rindge Avenue, Memorial Drive, Putnam Gardens, River Howard Homes, Woodrow Wilson Court, Roosevelt Towers, Walden Square, Jefferson Park, Washington Elms, Newtowne Court, Corcoran Park, and other areas.

    • April 30th: North Cambridge and West Cambridge (Lincoln Way, Walden Square, Corcoran Park)
    • May 7th: North Cambridge (362-364 Rindge, 402 Rindge and Jefferson Park)
    • May 21st: The Port
    • June 4th: Cambridgeport, Riverside and East Cambridge

“The goal of these outreach efforts is to give residents an opportunity to informally meet with personnel and officers, including our Neighborhood Sergeants and Sector Lieutenants, share public safety and human service program-related information and resources with residents, and discuss any questions or concerns residents may have,” said Superintendent Christine Elow. “We view this initiative as an integral component of our community outreach.”

Those residents who are not at home will receive door hangers complete with information and important telephone numbers/e-mail addresses.
