WALDEN ST
At approximately 12:17 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to a report of a disturbance outside a Walden Street residence. It was learned that the household has had an on-going issue with an unidentified homeless male who frequents the area. Tonight the homeless male made threats of property damage and physical harm.

Cambridge Police arrested Karl Ross. 59, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, for an outstanding warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Aggravated Assault and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to Green Street for a suspicious package with a wire sticking out of it. The package turned out to be just a large bundle of wires and rope, which were disposed of.

At 1:50 p.m., personnel for a local electronic store reported that upon noticing various items missing from the store's display counter they reviewed store security video and discovered that on 9/3/2019 numerous accessories were shoplifted by three unknown suspects working together.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police were dispatched to a book store on Massachusetts Avenue on a shoplifting in progress. Enroute to this location, they were advised that loss prevention was following the male suspect towards Massachusetts  Avenue and lost sight of him near the entrance to the trains (Mass @ Church). Transit PD was notified. Cambridge officers responded to the bookstore and watched a video with a black male wearing a hooded Boston sweatshirt exiting the store carrying a leather briefcase over his shoulder and pulling a wheeled suitcase. Transit PD notified ECC that they had a male stopped on the train matching the description given out. Cambridge officers responded and immediately identified the male as the same male from CCTV from the bookstore. Stewart Lance, 51, homeless,  was taken into custody after he was located in possession of over $1200 in the bookstore merchandise, including a $45 sweatshirt he was wearing, Lance was identified by Cambridge Police and loss prevention as the male on the video. Lance was charged with Shoplifting over $250.

A uniformed Cambridge Police Officer on a directed patrol at a city office building was approached about a motor vehicle theft. After the report was generated the vehicle was located and it does not appear any crime was committed.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., a Cambridge Police Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Garden Street. The vehicle was found to have both an expired registration and a registration that had been revoked for insurance purposes. The operator, a Cambridge resident, was issued a citation as a criminal application for Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unregistered Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
