FRANKLIN ST
Cambridge Police on directed patrol to the Franklin Park on Franklin Street observed two males sleeping in the corner of the park. In attempt to remove the two parties Officers observed a brown powdered substance in a plastic bag in-between the legs of one of the males (approximately 2 grams). Both parties were found to have warrants. They were later identified as Robert Elliott, 29, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge and Edward Senay 42, homeless, were placed into custody for their warrants and Robert Elliott is also being charged with Possession Of Class A.

At approximately 7:11 a.m., Cambridge Police were dispatched to Garden Street and Mason Street for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a tour bus and bicyclist.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police observed a suspicious person on Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square. Upon further investigation, it was determined the male had a warrant. While conducting a search of the suspect, a bag was found tucked into his sweat pants leg. The bag contained 3 different types of pills that were later determined to be stolen property. The suspect did not have a prescription for the pills. The individual also had a warrant out of West Virginia. Joshua Lofton, 26, homeless was arrested and is being charged with the following offenses Fugitive From Justice, Possession of Class E Drug, and Receiving Stolen Property -1200.

SECOND ST
At approximately 10:00 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to the area of Cambridge and Second Street for a report of a motor vehicle that struck a pedestrian and fled. The victim was able to obtain a plate number and an additional witness continued to follow the vehicle while updating Cambridge Emergency Communications Department with the location of the involved vehicle. Another patrol unit made a stop on the vehicle on Main Street at Bishop Allen Drive approximately 5 minutes after and 1.5 miles away from the incident with the driver of the involved vehicle being identified as a resident of Cambridge. Due to the victim statement and an individual witnessing the crash, The Cambridge resident will be summonsed to court for Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury.

A Cambridge resident was summonsed after Cambridge Police responded to the intersection of Hampshire Street and Prospect Street for the report of a hit and run Crash. The victim stated she was rear ended by a blue Honda Accord. When she asked the driver to exchange information, the driver returned to his car, made a U-turn and left the area. The victim was able to take pictures on her cell phone of the license plate. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance to evaluate back pain.

At approximately 12:42 p.m., Cambridge Police responded a department store on CambridgeSide Place on a report of a female being detained in the loss prevention office. The woman had concealed a large amount of merchandise and left the last point of sale making no attempt to pay for her merchandise. The woman was escorted back to loss prevention office where Cambridge Police were called for assistance.

Labrekia Johnson, 37, 53 Belmont Street in Cambridge was arrested for failure to identify themselves to a Police Officer and taking of stolen handicap registration plates among various motor vehicle violations.

At approximately 2:17 p.m. a local bank reported that a female came into two of three locations and cashed two bad checks. Both checks were for the amount of $967, one was cashed on Massachusetts Avenue and the other on Cambridge Street.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Cambridge Police conducted a traffic stop on Rindge Avenue. As a result of the stop the operator / registered owner a resident of Somerville was found to have a suspended license. The vehicle was towed and the Somerville resident was issued a criminal application for Operating After License Suspension.

DRUG, DISTRIBUTE CLASS D C94C S32C

KINNAIRD ST
Members of the Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Winess Gourabou, 27, 147 Western Avenue in Cambridge and charged him with Distribution of a Class D Drug and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug. Detectives on surveillance on Kinnaird Street observed Gourabou engage in behavior consistent with drug distribution. At one point during the surveillance, detectives observed what was believed to be a drug transaction. Detectives were able to stop and identify one individual who was in possession of a package of marijuana which he admitted he purchased from his friend in the gray Accord on Kinnaird Street. Detectives subsequently stopped and arrested Gourabou. A search of the motor vehicle that Gourabou was in revealed numerous packages of marijuana, $1975 cash and other items consistent with drug distribution, all of which Gourabou claimed ownership of.
