At approximately 5:25 p.m., Cambridge Police responded along with Fire - Rescue to the intersection of Broadway and Galileo Galilei Way on a report of an injured cyclist. Witness statements indicated the cyclist had struck a concrete bike lane divider causing him to fall. The involved party showed signs of a head injury, medical aid was rendered and he was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Three Cambridge residents, one Medford resident, and one Waltham resident were summoned to court for Breaking and Entering for a Misdemeanor. All parties were summoned after a witness called the police after observing all parties involved break into an abandoned house on Tremont Street. When officers arrived on scene all parties were still inside the house. All parties involved stated they didn't know the owner of the property and entered the house to hangout.

At 9:16 a.m., Cambridge Police Explosive Ordinance Unit responded to a report of an unattended bag at the corner of Portland Street and Broadway. Upon arrival the bag was cleared by police. The bag contained personal property and identification of an Allston resident. The bag was returned to the owner.

A Cambridge resident reported, that sometime between 10/10/2019 at 8 p.m. and 10/11/2019 at 8:45 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a Specialized 20 Sirrus bicycle off of her front porch, on Elm Street. The bicycle was locked to the front porch wooden railing. The suspect(s) removed a couple of the wooden spindles from the porch railing to steal the bicycle.

Cambridge Police arrested Brian R Mewa, 44, 98 Kings Hill Drive in Lynn, and charged him with Larceny From a Person, and Receiving Stolen Property. Mewa was arrested after police received a report that a victim's backpack was taken from her that was placed down beside her while her back was turned and left the area. Mewa was stopped by officers two blocks away because he fit the description given by the victim to police, was found to be in possession of one of the stolen items, and was subsequently identified by the victim during a show up procedure.

He is being summonsed for Receiving Stolen Property Under $1,200.
