Edwin Mauricio Lopera, 27, 99 Summer Street in Revere, was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, after he was involved in a physical altercation with a co-worker. During the altercation, Lopera grabbed the co-worker by the hood of his sweatshirt, threw him to the ground, dragged the victim by the hood, mounted him, grabbed the victim's throat with both hands, and preceded to bang the back of the victim's head against the ground. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance for a medical evaluation.

A Newton resident was summonsed for Assault and Battery on a Healthcare Provider after he struck a nurse with an open palm strike knocking her into a wall at a local hospital. The victim who is an employee of a licensed private hospital was treating him when he struck her.

At approximately 12:24 a.m., Cambridge Police Detectives assigned to both the Special Investigations Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division had occasion to arrest Laurent Beaubrun, 19, 22 Pleaseant Street in Malden, for a warrant out of Boston for Distribution of a Class B substance. Beaubrun was taken into custody without incident in the area of Griswold Street in Cambridge.

GRISWOLD ST
At approximately 11:50 p.m., members of the Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit and Criminal Investigations Section arrested Nick Cornay, 18, 1 Woodlawn Avenue in Holbrook, and charged him with Distribution of a Class D Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance. Detectives on surveillance on Griswold Street observed a suspected drug transaction between Cornay and Laurent Beaubrun. Once stopped and searched, Beaubrun was found to be in possession of a bag of suspected marijuana (8.6 grams). Cornay was also stopped and searched and found to be in possession of over 3 ounces of marijuana, $515 U.S. currency, a digital scale and other instrumentalities commonly used in the distribution of drugs.

Cambridge Police responded to a convenience store on Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square in regards to a suspect attempting to make a purchase with a fake $100 bill. The color and texture of the fake bill are different than an actual bill. Additionally, the bill is missing a hologram and the bill also had Chinese characters on it. Officers used a counterfeit marker, which also revealed that the bill was fake. A Cambridge resident is being summonsed to court for one count of Utter Counterfeit Note.

GREEN ST
Cambridge Police arrested Christian Sleeper, 26, 85 Third Street in Cambridge, and charged him with possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute. Sleeper was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a digital scale and multiple pill pouch bags which contained a white crystal substance that tested positive for Methamphetamine using a TruNarc Analyzer.
