Cambridge Police responded to Putnam Avenue in regards to the "grandparent scam." A Cambridge resident lost approximately $23,300 as a result of the scam.

WARRANT ARREST REPORT

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
The Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Jason Brandano, 38, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge. Brandano was observed on Temple Street and was believed to have warrants for his arrest. These warrants were confirmed and Brandano was placed under arrest. The three warrants were issued out of the Cambridge District Court, one charging Brandano with a Municipal Ordinance/By-Law Violation and two for Possession of a Class B Substance.

Alexander Forester was arrested at a coffee shop at Mass Ave for Assault and Battery and Assault by Means with a Knife. Alexander Forester, 21, 402 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, pulled a knife out of his pocket brandishing it and then put it back into his pocket. He then lunged forward and attempted to reach into his pocket for the knife again and struggled with police as Officers attempted to stop him from getting the knife out of his pocket. While trying to control him, he kicked an Officer twice striking them in the chest and neck.
