A Langdon St. resident flagged down a Cambridge Police cruiser to report a package theft. Officers stopped a male suspect in the area and located numerous stolen packages in his possession. Enrique Santos, 49, homeless from Boston

was subsequently placed under arrest on charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Larceny from a Building.

Cambridge Police responded to reports of a fight in Central Square. Robert Bany, 63, 150 Erie Street in Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Assault to Murder, after several witnesses saw him attempt to stab another person with a knife.

An Ash Street resident reported hearing noises that could have been fireworks or gunshots. Officers and a K9 searched the area, no evidence of a shooting was located. No other witnesses besides the initial caller could be located.

Police were called to Essex St on a report of a male asking for help after being pepper sprayed. Upon further investigation it was the found that male had attempted to steal from a Central Square business and was sprayed during a physical altercation with a security guard.
