Cambridge Police responded to a Western Avenue residence for a reported disturbance involving a firearm. Upon police arrival, it was determined that a simple assault and battery had occurred. A firearm was not located. As a result of the subsequent police investigation, a Cambridge male will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for a single count of assault and battery. A second involved Cambridge male will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for a single count of possession of a Class B substance, a single count of possession of a Class D substance, a single count of possession of a Class E substance, a single count of possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute and a single count of possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute.

BROADWAY
Guilliano Verna, 34, 10 Porter Street in Everett, was placed under arrest and charged with Leaving the Scene / Property Damage, Operating Under the Influence, Open Container / Alcohol, Failure to Obey / Produce License, License Not in Possession and Seatbelt not Fastened. Verna was observed by Cambridge Police operating a motor vehicle in a parking lot that the public has access to. The vehicle backed into a fence and the fled the area. Once the vehicle was stopped by police on a public way, Officers observed Verna not wearing his seat belt. Verna’s speech was slurred, his eyes were glassy, and officers could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Verna refused several requests to produce his driver license. After further investigation it was determined Verna did not have his driver’s license in his possession. Additionally, an empty glass bottle of Hennessy was located within arm’s reach of the driver’s side of the motor vehicle.
