An East Cambridge resident reported the attempted theft of his identity on July 1, 2020 at approximately 6:50 PM. A caller claiming to be a Sheriff threatened him with arrest if he did not cooperate with an investigation into an alleged criminal matter regarding his Social Security number.

MUNROE ST
Cambridge Police responded to the construction site located at Binney Street for a report of a suspicious party trespassing inside of the site. While searching the area, officers observed a party matching the description jumping the fence on the Binney Street side of the site, which has several posted "No Trespassing" signs along the entirety of the site. When officers attempted to stop the party for questioning, the party became combative and pushed and attempted to strike officers. Due to his actions, Liam Cooper, 32, 32 Beacon Street in Somerville, is being charged in Cambridge District Court with Trespassing and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
