GLUE/TOXIC SUBSTANCE, INHALE C270 S18

MT AUBURN ST
Andrew Pope, 22, Richmond, VA, was arrested at Mt. Auburn Street and charged with Disorderly Contact and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug, Marijuana. Austin Deem, 23, 437 Putnam Hill Road in Sutton, was arrested for inhaling substances with toxic vapor. Officers responded to this location for a report of individuals inside of a car screaming. Upon arrival, the driver of said vehicle (Deem) was witnessed inhaling what appeared to be toxic substances from a balloon, upon further investigation it was discovered that Deem had a full nitrous oxide tank in his passenger seat where Pope was sitting. Pope fled the vehicle, sprinting into traffic for half a block before falling in the middle of the street, at which point he was detained by officer. Inside the vehicle, a black suitcase was found behind the passenger seat of the vehicle and Pope stated that the bag belonged to him. A search of the bag resulted in the discovery of cash and multiple jars of leafy substance, waxy substance as well as powdered leafy substance, all believed to be cannabinoids, individually packaged and well beyond the limit of personal use.
