James Hook, 52, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, after he attempted to steal a donation jar from a Cambridge Street convenience store. When confronted by the manager, Hook threatened to stab him.

She received a call from someone claiming to be a "lawyer" who was representing her grandson and was being held by the police. He requested her to send a large amount of money to secure his release. She never sent the money.
