A Cambridge resident came to the police station to report that he was being blackmailed after visiting a chat room on the internet. He gave them some money but not the full amount that was demanded.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police responded to a bank on Massachusetts Ave. for a report of a male trying to cash a $50,000 false check. Upon further investigation, Richmond Arthur, 25, Pawtucket, RI, was arrested for Uttering a Forged Document, Identity Fraud and Attempted Larceny Over $1,200. Police and others witnessed Arthur uttering a false document while knowingly using a fake identification card and fake corresponding name. He did utter a forged bank document that he knowingly passed to the teller with the intent to steal $4,800 from the bank.

A Cambridge resident reported the theft of his identity on August 10, 2020 at approximately 2:35 p.m. When he went to renew his license, he was informed that his Alabama license had been suspended. The victim never lived in Alabama and soon discovered that someone had stolen his identity and obtained a driver’s license in that state.

ARLINGTON ST
Cambridge Police responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue at Arlington Street for a reported disturbance and hit and run. After a brief investigation, it was determined that a Somerville resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for OUI- Liquor, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Destruction to a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. It is alleged that he operated his vehicle negligently by backing into the victim's vehicle while in the travel lane on Massachusetts Avenue, caused malicious damage to the victim's vehicle by striking it with a golf club, threatening to hit the victim with the golf club, which left the victim in fear of his safety, left the scene of the crash with property damage while having no intention of exchanging paperwork, and was observed by Officers as being unsteady on his feet, slurring his speech, glassy eyed, having the scent of alcoholic beverage on his breath, and admitting to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to operating his motor vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital.

CENTRAL SQ
A Boston resident reported the theft of her bicycle. She had locked it up outside of Central Square on August 7, 2020 at approximately 5:30 p.m. and when she returned at approximately 10:30 p.m. she found it had been stolen. The stolen bike was a white Huffy with some pink lettering and trim.

A Cambridge resident reported the theft of her bicycle. Her 2019 Schwinn hybrid bicycle was stolen from the rack outside of her building sometime after December 2019. The front tire remained locked to the rack.

A Cambridge resident reported the theft of property and an act of vandalism on August 10, 2020 at approximately 8:50 p.m. The victim alleges a neighbor entered her yard and stole items from the driveway. The vandalism occurred when a three-foot-long red line was spray painted on the driveway surface.

A Cambridge resident reported the theft of a bicycle. He had rented a Blue Bike this evening in Central Square. Upon exiting a store, he found it had been stolen.
