A Cambridge resident called CPD to report a package theft occurred on August 14, 2020 when an unknown person(s) stole his package which contained his new laptop computer.

MURRAY HILL RD
A Cambridge resident called CPD to report an incident of Identity Theft. In April, an unknown person(s) used her husband's personal info to set up an online checking account. On Friday, someone attempted to move a large amount of money from her equity account into her checking account. The bank froze all of her accounts.

A financial institution on Portland Street reported an individual attempted to cash a fraudulent check. It was determined that the individual, a resident of Broadway in Cambridge, has attempted this a number of times in the past.

A Cambridge resident called CPD to report an incident of Larceny by False Pretense. A check made out in her mother's name was mailed to her house. They deposited it and several days later the check bounced. The bank informed her that there was a negative balance in her account.

NEWTON ST
Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to Newton Street for a report of a suspicious unattended bag on the sidewalk. Upon arrival the bag was cleared by Tango 7 and K9 Rumba. The bag contained soiled clothing and nothing of value. There was no information in regards to the owner and the bag was disposed of at the DPW yard in a dumpster to prevent further calls for the same item.

HARDING ST
Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to the area of Harding Street and Cambridge Street for a report of two suspicious suitcases. Upon arrival the bags were located on the corner of Harding Street and South Street in Somerville. The bags were cleared after it was determined that they were empty.
