ROBBERY, ARMED C265 S17

FIRST STREET
Cambridge Police responded to the area of Athenaeum Street and First Street for a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon investigation, two individuals were located in close proximity to the crime scene and positively identified by the victim. It was determined that the victim was approached by the two suspects and robbed of cash at knife point. The suspects fled, in which the victim gave chase briefly which alerted police to the area of Cambridge Parkway where the two suspects were found and subsequently positively identified by the victim. As a result, Gregory Tillery, 27, 63 Washington Avenue in Chelsea and Elijah Messier, 22, 73 Calumet Street, in Boston were placed into custody for armed robbery.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE
Cambridge Police arrested David Blake, 29, 112 South Hampton Street in Boston and charged him with Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise. Blake was observed by Cambridge Police inside a Central Square business with non-purchased merchandise inside his shirt.

A Cambridge resident reported vandalism to his motor vehicle. The victim found that three tires on his vehicle had been slashed some time overnight.

Police responded to Dover Street for a parking complaint. The involved vehicle was found to be revoked for insurance and unregistered. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the vehicle owner has been issued a criminal complaint for the above referenced infractions.

A Cambridge resident reported an incident regarding identity fraud. A suspect had used his personal information to file a fraudulent unemployment claim with the state of Massachusetts in December of 2020.

HENRY STREET
A Cambridge resident reported identity theft. The victim had been duped into revealing personal information to a suspect over the phone. The suspect then used her banking information in an attempt to withdraw funds from her bank account. That attempt was stopped by her bank.

A Cambridge resident reported being threatened. The victim stated that a male known to him threatens to harm him every time they come across each other. The suspect sometimes enlists other people to threaten him with assault.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE
Cambridge Police placed Randy Zakas, 37, Houghton Street in Lynn, under arrest for four warrants from Lynn District Court, Salem District Court, Ipswich District Court, and Peabody District Court. Additionally, charges will be sought in Cambridge District Court for Larceny from a Building after Zakas was recorded on camera stealing $530.00 from his employer. Zakas also admitted to stealing the money after his manager questioned him about the incident. The money stolen was taken from the "bank bag," which was stored inside the business’ building.

ELM STREET
A Cambridge resident reported malicious destruction to his motor vehicle. A suspect used a sharp object to leave several deep scratches along the driver's side of the vehicle. The victim believes the damage occurred between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM this evening.
