Cambridge Police responded to a store located on the 700 block of Massachusetts Avenue for a report of group of about 50 people on bicycles blocking the store’s entrance. Several people in this group went inside the store and shoplifted various items.

GARDEN ST
Cambridge Police responded to Garden Street for a report of malicious destruction to a motor vehicle. After arriving on scene and making contact with the reporting party/victim, it was confirmed that their vehicle had been damaged. Specifically, three unknown suspects threw rocks at the victim's motor vehicle. Responding Units canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspects. One suspect was stopped close by and identified and another suspect was able to flee the area.

A Waltham resident who used to live in Cambridge came to the police station to report a larceny. The woman explained that she used to sublet a room in an apartment in Cambridge until recently and her two tax refund checks were mailed to her former address. The female resident has admitted to her that her checks are in the apartment, but refuses to turn them over to her.

Cambridge Police responded to Ware Street after receiving a report of a motor vehicle striking several parked cars. After further investigation, Abbas Abdela, 62, 20 Ware in Cambridge, is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor after he admitted to consuming alcohol prior to operating his motor vehicle on a public way.
