While at the Cambridge Police Station, it was discovered Babyok furnished a false identification. Subsequently, Babyok was charged with Furnishing a False ID - Following Arrest. Babyok also had a warrant out of Boston District Court. Prior to Babyok’s arrest, Cambridge Police Officers were on a call at the Porter Square MBTA Station assisting Transit PD with an investigation. While on the investigation, a victim approached Officers and stated her sister's bicycle was stolen from the front of a department store. The victim's bicycle, which was affixed to a bike rack, had its lock cut and was thus stolen. Upon speaking with Loss Prevention, it was discovered that the same suspect, prior to the larceny of a bicycle, filled a basket full of merchandise and vacated the store without paying. Loss Prevention showed Officers video footage of the suspect, first shoplifting the merchandise and then cutting the lock/stealing the bicycle. That suspect was last seen headed down Somerville Avenue. A short time later, as Officers were exiting the establishment, a suspect accurately matching that description was observed riding a bicycle in the wrong direction on Massachusetts Avenue, opposite the Porter Square MBTA Station. Officers stopped the individual, who provided a false identification. Babyok had the victim's stolen bicycle in his possession. Babyok admitted to stealing the bicycle and shoplifting. Babyok was handcuffed and placed under arrest. Upon checking Babyok’s pant pockets for weapons, a clear plastic Vial containing a white crystal-like substance was discovered. Babyok advised Officers that the substance was "Crystal Meth." Babyok was transported to the Cambridge Police Station, where he was booked. During the booking process, Officers discovered that Babyok furnished a false name and had a warrant out of Boston District Court for Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle Daytime for Felony and Possession of a Burglarious Instrument.
