Cambridge Police responded to a Porter Square business for the report of someone attempting to pass counterfeit currency.

BROADWAY
Cambridge Police responded to the area of Sennott Park between Broadway and Norfolk Street for a report of a suspect that randomly physically assaulted (struck her arm with his hand) a person unknown to them. Units searched the area and were able to locate the suspect, who was later sectioned to a hospital for evaluation.

NORRIS ST
A resident of Cambridge states his bicycle was stolen sometime between 3/23/2021 at 6 p.m. and 3/24/2021 at 7 p.m. The resident states the bicycle was locked to a bike rack that is located in front of his residence and the suspect cut the lock that secured the bike to the rack.

A resident of Cambridge states he sold a board game and its figurines to an individual in North Carolina. The resident stated the game was returned to him because it did not contain the figurines and $200 was removed from his bank account for the return.

Cambridge Police responded to Putnam Gardens for a simple assault.

FIREARM, DISCHARGE WITHIN 500 FT OF BLDG C269 S12E

CHERRY ST
Cambridge Police Officers responded to Cherry Street for a report of shots fired. After officers arrived on scene, one spent shell casing was found in the roadway of Cherry Street. A crime scene was initiated. During the investigation, an involved male party had warrants out of Rhode Island. Daniel Rodriguez, 31, Cambridge, was placed under arrest for the warrants (Fugitive from Justice and Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle). An investigation is ongoing.

A Newton resident reported hit-and-run damage to a motor vehicle. His 2015 Honda Civic was struck while parked on Ellery Street near Massachusetts Avenue yesterday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Damage was visible on the front bumper.
