Security Personnel for a bank in the Kendall Square area reports that on June 22, 2021, an unknown suspect gained access into their closed branch office by unknown means. The suspect was only inside premises for a few minutes and promptly left without disturbing or stealing anything.

A Cambridge resident reported attempted fraud at approximately 3:15 p.m. A male caller claiming to be from his utility company attempted to acquire banking information under the pretext of an overdue bill. The victim caught on to the scam before divulging any sensitive information.

Cambridge Police responded to municipal parking lot for a report of a fight. An individual was located and they declined medical treatment.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Temple Street, where it was reported to officers that multiple parties were possibly smoking crack cocaine. Upon officer’s arrival, a male party known to officers by the name of Charles Long of Cambridge, was sitting in a doorway on the Temple Street side of Massachusetts Avenue. When officers approached Long, Long was hunched over holding a glass pipe, most commonly used for smoking narcotics, and located in between Long’s legs was a small, white rock like substance consistent with crack cocaine. Officers gave Long several lawful orders not to move, in an attempt to retrieve the suspected narcotics. At which point, Long used his foot to destroy evidence knowingly and willfully in the presence of officers. As a result, Long is being charged with Possession of a Class B Drug and Withholding Evidence from an Official.

RINDGE AVE
A Rindge Avenue resident reported an incident regarding credit card fraud. Her credit card was inside the storage compartment of a scooter that was stolen from Harvard Square last evening. A suspect then used the card to make a fraudulent purchase at Walmart. Further attempts to use the card were denied.

Cambridge Police summonsed a Chelsea resident for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She was initially stopped for Failure to Stop/Yield, after she was observed going through a red light at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Third Street. During the traffic stop, she admitted she did not have an active driver's license.

Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Western Avenue. As a result, the operator was identified as Alejandro Sebastian Ruiz, 19, 96 Conwell Street in Somerville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Class C to Distribute and Marked Lanes Violation.

A 15-year-old New York resident reported being approached by a male on June 24, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m. The male approached her inside a Central Square store today at 3:45 p.m. He claimed to be a photographer interested in working with her as a model. She became nervous and left after taking a photo of his Instagram account information. A suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.

BROADWAY
Christopher Keough, 27, 2 Thompson Court in Stoneham, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License, Possession of Class A (heroin) and Operating Under the Influence of Drugs. Keough was seen operating a black Ford Explorer on Portland Street from Main Street. At approximately 8:45 p.m., the Ford Explorer was seen driving at a high rate of speed towards Broadway and crossed the marked double yellow line near the intersection of Portland Street and Washington Street. The vehicle continued to travel onto the sidewalk, hitting the curb, causing all four tires to leave the pavement, and struck a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. The operator then fled the scene at the same high rate of speed. The Ford was then stopped by Officers on Portland Street at the intersection of Broadway where Officers confronted the operator and passenger of the vehicle. Officers discovered a white powdered substance on a cell phone and a cut straw in the vehicle, which Officers believed to be heroin. The passenger – Emannuel Escobar, 21, 22 Washington Avenue in Stoneham – was arrested on warrants out of Lawrence District Court for Possession of a Class A Drug and out of Woburn District Court for Possession to Distribute a Class D Drug.
