While in routine patrol in the area of Central Square, Cambridge Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop, after a motorist was seen traveling on Massachusetts Avenue while using her electronic device. A CJIS inquiry also revealed the owner/operator of the vehicle in question currently had a Massachusetts Driver’s License status of suspended. Also prior to the stop, it was observed by officers that the vehicles right rear brake light was nonoperational. As a result of the traffic stop a Dorchester woman was issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for a criminal application under the following charges. One count of Operating after License Suspension, one count of Operator Send/Read Electronic Message and one count of Defective Equipment (rear right brake light).

A Boston man was operating his electric scooter in the bike lane while traveling on Cambridge Street when a car opened the driver side door to exit the vehicle, struck the handlebar of the passing scooter. At impact, the scooter operator lost control of his scooter and hit the pavement. He declined any medical assistance at the scene.

Cambridge Police arrested Jose Morales-Alvarado, 33, 4 Hillside Avenue, Somerville for OUI Liquor. Officers responded to the intersection of Concord Avenue and Moulton Street for a Male Party "passed out" behind the wheel. Upon further investigation, Morales-Alvarado was arrested after he showed multiple indicators of impairment during Roadside Assessments.

The Cambridge Police responded to a disturbance at Carl Barron Plaza. After investigation, Officers discovered that a verbal altercation occurred between two strangers. It was determined that a Cambridge woman assaulted a male victim. During the assault, she retrieved a knife from her waistband and pointed it at the victim, putting him in fear of his life. It was also discovered that she called the victim Anti-Black racial slurs during the assault. For her actions, the Woman is being summonsed in Cambridge District Court for one count of Assault by Dangerous Weapon and one count of Assault to Intimidate (Hate Crime).

Cambridge Police responded to Perry Street for a report of a motor vehicle striking a parked motor vehicle causing damage and leaving the scene. As a result, a Somerville man will be summons Leaving the Scene of Property Damage.
